Daniel Christopher Neikes, age 41 of West Plains, MO, was born April 14, 1985, to Chris Eugene Neikes and Kathryn Sue Minich in St. Louis, MO, and passed away July 28, 2026. He is survived by: his mother, Kathryn Sue Minich; stepmother, Patty Neikes; sister, Molly Neikes (Brad Trujillo); stepbrother, Zach Gregory (Kellyn); his beloved partner, Philisha Allen; his beloved daughter, Lexi Neikes; and the children who were his and loved in every way that mattered, Paytin Dusenbury, Ashtin Dusenbury, Michael VanWinkle, Landin Dusenbury, and Cabot Massey; and so many more relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis Eugene and Betty Jane Neikes, Joe Dan and Betty Nan Minich. Daniel worked since he was 15, first at Ollar’s dairy barn, finally as head sawyer at Crigler’s Sawmill. He was a talented musician, woodworker, and chef. He lived a wonderful testimony about his recovery from addiction and was kind and helpful to so many more people than he realized. Visitation will be 2pm-3pm Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with a memorial service to be held at 3pm. |
