Joseph Paul Martin, 93, of Overland, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. Joseph was born on December 24, 1932, in Alton, Missouri, to Herbert Martin and Zelma (Barton) Martin. He worked for Chevron Corporation for 30 years and retired as the Maryland Heights Plant Manager. Joe (also known as Paul or Grandpa) loved fishing, watching sporting events, and—most of all—lending a hand to friends and family whenever they needed him. Survived by: his sister, Mary Lee Joslin; his sons, Michael Martin (late Phyllis) and Timothy Martin (Jan); his grandchildren, Clifford W. Hayes II (Misty), Benjamin Hayes (Ashley), and Susan Martin; and his great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Ashton, Justin, Gabriel, Addison, and Benny. Preceded in death by: his wife, Glenda Martin; his parents, Herbert and Zelma Martin; his sister, Darlis Vaughn; his brother, Donnie Ray Martin; his son, Ricky Martin; and his daughters, Susan Martin and Nancy Graf. Visitation will be 11:00am-Noon Saturday, April 11, 2026, with Memorial Service at Noon at the Clary Funeral Home, 102 Vine St., Alton, MO 65606. Burial will immediately follow at Cave Springs Church, 1056 RR 71, Alton, MO 65606. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the funeral home. |
