Robin F. Goodwin, 63, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born in Jackson, MS on February 10, 1963, to Robert and Gale Foster. As a child, she took dance and piano lessons. She loved to play softball and played for many years, well into adulthood. She was an excellent student and graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. She married Greg Goodwin November 1st, 1986, and they lived in Florence, MS until they moved to Missouri in 1995. She was a member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Florence, MS where her and Greg co-taught a Sunday School class together. She is currently a member of Riverton Baptist Church where she taught children’s church. She was a kind and patient teacher, always putting others before herself. She was director of the Computer Services Department at SMSU-WP, then she became a Project Manager for SunGard SCT and is currently Director of the Alton Housing Authority. She loved the outdoors and spent many early hours in the woods deer hunting. She was just as comfortable in a business suit in the office as she was in camouflage in a deer stand. She loved to cook and frequently surprised Greg with exciting and tasty new dishes. They enjoyed vacationing in Florida and attended many of the Blue Angel Shows. However, they both understood the importance of the simple pleasure of sitting on the front porch, sipping coffee, enjoying nature and their time together. One of Greg’s fondest memories is of him and Robin laying on a quilt in the front yard, looking up at the vast universe full of stars and praising God for all his blessings. Robin was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Robert and Gale Foster; Father-in-Law Lamar Goodwin; and Brother Gene Foster. Robin is survived by her husband Greg Goodwin; Sister Rhonda (David) Baker; Mother-in-Law Evola Goodwin; Sister-in-Law Lynn Goodwin, all of Alton, MO. Sister-in-Law Frances Foster of Huntsville, AL; Niece Nathalie Barns of Huntsville, AL; Nephew Alex Foster of Hattiesburg, MS. Visitation will be at Clary Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday February 18t, 2026. Funeral services will be held at Riverton Baptist Church at 2 pm Thursday, February 19, 2026. Burial immediately following at Riverton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Gideons International or a favorite charity of your choice and may be left at Clary Funeral Home or the Riverton Baptist Church. Remember me in quiet days While raindrops whisper on your pane; But in your memories have no grief; Let just the joy we knew remain. Remember me when evening stars Look down on you with steadfast eyes; Remember me if once you wake To catch a glimpse of red sunrise. And when your thoughts do turn to me, Know that I would not have you cry; But live for me and laugh for me- When you are happy, so am I. Remember an old joke we shared; Remember me when spring walks by; Think once of me when you are glad, And while you live, I shall not die. Heather Kirkwood |
