On Thursday February 27, 2025, David Dwayne Johnson, loving partner and extraordinary storyteller, passed away at the age of 73 in his home with his partner, Carla Norton, by his side. David was born February 2, 1952, in Alton, MO to Pauline Josie (Bettis) Johnson and Lawrence Elgin Johnson. David was a man who loved life, adventures, and family and friends. Over the past decade he and Carla were inseparable. Together they shared the adventures and pride that her children, Andrew Norton, Brenna Norton, and Jared Mercer, brought to the union. David was preceded in death by his parents Pauline and Lawrence, and a brother Arlie Dale Johnson, and grandparents, Albert S. and Sarah A. Johnson, and Joseph M. and Margaret E. Bettis. He is survived by Carla, Jared, Brenna, Andrew, a brother, Jimmy Johnson and wife Jean, and numerous cousins and friends.
