Lola (Deckard) Gutzler, age 84 passed away in peace holding her husband’s hand of 56 years, Robert (Bob) Gutzler Sr., on August 17, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital Parkview Center in St.
Louis, Missouri.

Lola was born on July 3 rd , 1940, in Oregon County, Missouri to Tommy and Della Deckard of Alton Missouri, who preceded her in death.

Lola’s passion was for her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to garden, fish, camp, deer
hunt, play cards and cook. She lived in St. Louis Missouri, attended hundreds of her kids and grandkids sporting events and lived life to its fullest while never forgetting the “country” in her heart. She kept in touch (almost daily) with her brother, Troy Deckard, (one of the last things she said before passing was “I love my brother”), and her cousin Hershel Deckard prior to his death and other friends and family.

She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Gutzler St., sons Tommy (Donna) Merritt, Robert (Misha) Gutzler Jr., grandchildren Zachary (Amanda) Merritt, Abigail Merritt, Brandon Gutzler, Christopher (Madelynn) Gutzler, Jamisha (Andrew) Alexander, great granddaughter Arianna Merritt, great grandson Kolten Welch, brother Troy Deckard and nephew Troy Deckard Jr.

She is making the trip to Oregon County one last time for loved ones to celebrate her life on August 22 nd , 2024. Visitation begins at 1 pm, memorial service at 2 pm at “New” Bailey Chapel with burial directly following at “Old” Baily Cemetery. Her final resting place will be near her parents and just a few miles from her family’s farm.
