Norma Strickbine was born November 10th, 1927, in New York City, passed away May 19th, 2024. At an early age she was introduced to fine art by fine art by her father, Ellis Bates, a prominent New York attorney and Assemblyman. They would spend many hours at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and other museums studying the great masters. Her love of art continued to grow through school where her art was recognized and encouraged by her teachers. Leaving New York, she came west and pursued her art further by studying under known western artist Mille Funk. Norma Has won 1st prize in numerous art shows and her paintings have been displayed in numerous galleries and private businesses. She credits her encouragement to her husband Norm, a professional photographer, for the success she has had. They both shared a love of western life and the great outdoors. Norm and Norma retired to Thayer, Missouri where they lived for over 20years. |
