Electa Michel Smallwood, daughter of the late Robert T. and Olsie Simpson, was born November 23, 1928, at Wilderness, Missouri. She entered into eternal rest on July 2, 2023, at the age of 94 years and 7 months.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four siblings, and four great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by: her children, Larry Smallwood and wife Nancy, Shirley Combs and husband Keith, Saundra Dorris and husband Mark, Michele Myers; her grandchildren, Jennifer Benward and husband Mike, Tony Cartee, Jeff Foltz and wife Becky, Mark Foltz and wife Rachele, Amy Marker and Kris, Matthew Combs, Heather Hufstedler and husband Jon, Stephanie Miller and husband Ryan, Shauna Huckabee and husband Jeremy, Amy King and husband Eric, Allison Warren and husband Mike; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Electa will always be remembered as a loving teacher and librarian. She showed unconditional love for every student and remembered them throughout her years, even after retirement.

She was a longtime member of Victory Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved singing and was known for her beautiful, strong, alto voice. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family, cooking, singing, and telling them stories of her childhood.

Services will be at 3pm Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Alton, MO, with burial to follow in the Wilderness Cemetery. Visitation will be 2pm until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilderness Cemetery.
