James Michael Burr, Sr. (Jim) was born to the late Coy and Yvonne Burr on March 18, 1955. Jim departed this life on June 28, 2022 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Denise. He is also survived by the following: Brothers: Greg Burr of Orangevale, CA; Coy Burr, Jr. of Kansas City, MO; and Ronnie Burr (and wife, Debbie) of Kansas City, MO. Children: Jamie Burr (and wife, Joella), Melia Wilson, Megan Luster (and husband, Matt); and Eric Chapman (and fiancé, Ren). Grandchildren: Kylee, Ava, Reed, Ella, Emma, Kayleigh, Calvin, Logan, Oliver, and Carly.

Jim spent most of his life working in various aspects of carpentry. He retired from Deldon Doors, where he installed garage doors in the KC Metro area. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and most of all deer hunting. Year around, he spent countless hours with friends and family preparing for hunting season. Now, he gets to live pain and anxiety free in his happy hunting ground.

His final resting place will be near Mammoth Springs, AR, where he called “down home”.

A visitation for James will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Field Creek Cemetery, South highway 63, Mammoth Spring, AR under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO.
