Neati passed in peace at her home surrounded by family on Sunday June 26th, 2022 at the age of 94. Neati was born on a Wednesday March 25th, 1928 in Thayer Missouri to James W. Lewallen & Ader V. Lewallen (Hefner). Where she grew up on a farm with her three brothers & two sisters.

On January 2nd 1948 she married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Hays. They moved to St. Louis in the early 1950s, Neati became a nurse for a short time before finding her career home at Train working in accounts. They eventually settled in House Springs, MO where they welcomed their son James Lee Hays.

Neati and her husband love bluegrass, with Ken playing the violin and had played bluegrass all his life, together every Saturday they hosted friends to play bluegrass. She loves nothing more than either being in her garden or sitting around with family, friends and a hot cup of coffee. Neati is survived by her son: James Lee Hays; 3 granddaughters: Casey Delean Beckring (Hays), Alexandra Marie Hays & Kristin Lee Hays.

Funeral services will be 11:30am Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with burial following in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10am-11:30am Saturday prior to the funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
