Charles Norman Trimble was born February 6, 1935, in Blackwell, OK, and died peacefully surrounded by family at home on July 7, 2021, in Thayer, MO, at the age of 86 years and 5 months. He was united in marriage to Dee Roberts on March 1, 1961, and they had two children, Kem Dee and Stephanie Marshe. He later married TeLesa Ann Dawe April 13, 1968, and they had one child, Christie Lynn. Years later he married Orlanda Hall McGhee on September 6, 1998. He is survived by: his wife, Orlanda, of Thayer, MO; 3 daughters, Kem Trimble of Thayer, MO; Stephanie Fuentes of Reed Springs, MO, Christe and husband Shannon Caldwell of Willow Springs, MO; daughter of the heart, Vivian Emig of Thayer, MO; granddaughter, Megan Coontz; great-granddaughter, Kennedy of Osage Beach, MO; and siblings Betty Snyder of Highland, CA, Bill Manes and wife Pauline of West Plains, MO, Ezra Manes, Jr. and wife Janice of Thayer, MO, George Manes and wife Darlene of Marmaduke, AR, Mary Ann Adams of Thayer, MO, and Sharon Kay Decker and husband Charles of Koshkonong, MO. He leaves behind an extended, caring family of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Norman was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lola Trimble Manes and stepfather Ezra E. Manes, Sr., sister Anna Lee Spurlock, and brothers Charles, Robert, and Thomas Manes. He was a 20 year U.S. Navy veteran culminating with service in the Vietnam War, for which he was awarded 2 Purple Hearts for heroic action protecting others. He advanced to the position of flight engineer and crew chief for Navy Super Constellation surveillance aircraft. He was proud of being one of seven brothers serving their country in the U.S. military. He served for many years on the Thayer Police force. He had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed maintaining and flying small aircraft around the country. He was an avid sportsman all his life and loved to hunt and fish in the Ozarks with family and friends. Above everything, Norman loved his family and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He attended Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Thayer, MO. He is at peace in his eternal home. Funeral services will be 10am Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with burial following in the Thayer Cemetery.
