Edward Kenneth Graetz, age 96 of Thayer, MO was born December 4, 1923 in Chicago, IL and passed away April 8, 2020 at Shady Oaks Healthcare. Survivors include his wife Gloria, one son Mike Graetz and wife Vickie, one granddaughter, Melissa Graetz, step-children, Max Hopper and wife Nancy, Irma Miller and husband Marshal, Sharon Hatfield, Alice McGhee and husband Daryl, sister-in law Paula Graetz and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bernard Graetz and Grace Hagberg Graetz, his first wife Millie and a brother Donald. Ed was part of “The Greatest Generationâ€, serving with the U.S. Navy during World War II, taking part in the Asiatic-Pacific campaign and the liberation of the Philippines. For 32 years he was employed as a motorman for the Chicago Transit Authority. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Garfield Cemetery, Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at 11:00 am. |
