Edgar E. “Jack” Parks, age 84 of Mammoth Spring, AR, passed away October 29, 2019. He was born September 2, 1935, in Ferdinand, IN, to Edgar and Nellie (Whipking) Parks. He married Dorothy R. Blessinger on December 18, 1973. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was a Lifetime member of VFW 7831 in Mammoth Spring, as well as a life member of DAV and belonged to the American Legion in Thayer, MO. He is survived by: his wife of 45 years, Dorothy; 1 son, Jack Parks & wife Joan of Petersburg, IN; 3 daughters, Theresa Parks of Mammoth Spring, AR, Connie Brown of Thayer, MO, and Suzzie Parks of Thayer, MO; 2 brothers, Harry Parks and wife Lil of Jasper, IN, and Bob Parks of Jasper, IN; 2 sisters, Patty Schmitt & husband Howard, and Diana Bockstahler; 20 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many great friends. He is preceded by: his parents, Edgar and Nellie (Whipking) Parks; 2 sons, Gregory Parks and Charlie Parks; 1 daughter, Rose Drury; 2 granddaughters, Misty and Angie; 3 brothers, Arthur “Buck” Parks, Cornell Parks, and Carl Parks. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. David Brock officiating, and burial following in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Highland, AR. Visitation will be 9am-11am Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO. |
