Alice Lavera (Sloan) Roe, age 97 of Thayer, MO, was born September 20, 1922, in Oregon County, MO, and passed from this life on October 1, 2019, at the Shady Oaks Health Care in Thayer, MO.

Alice was married on July 5, 1939, to Robert G. Roe. To this union were born 3 children: Martha Ann, John William, and Robert Dean. Alice was a homemaker all of her life and spent several years as caregiver to her mother and her husband.

Alice is survived by: her children, Martha Ann Linson and husband Lonnie of Beebe, AR; John William Roe of Beebe, AR, and Robert Dean Roe and wife Petra of Wichita, KS; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 niece, Shirley Miller and husband Wesley of Caulfield, MO; 2 great-nephews; 1 great niece; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by: her husband of 50 years, Robert Roe; her parents, John and Dessa (Switzer) Sloan; her sister, Mary Ellen Reed; her brother-in-law, Charles Edward Reed; granddaughter, Mary Christine Linson; 2 unborn great-grandchildren; 1 niece, Mary Charlene Cobb.

Funeral services will be 4pm Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Koshkonong, MO, with burial following in the Walker Cemetery in Thayer, MO. Visitation will be 2pm-4pm Sunday, October 6, 2019, at the Freewill Baptist Church in Koshkonong, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO.
