Betty Simpson, age 83, daughter of Fon and Ora (Howell) Guffey, was born June 11, 1936 in Alton, MO. She departed this life July 29, 2019 in Houston, MO.

Betty married Bob Simpson on January 4, 1957. To this union one daughter, Terri, and one son, Kent, were born.

She attended Alton Public School and after graduation she became the school secretary. While she lived in Houston, MO she clerked in several of the stores and liked meeting and helping the people.

She became a Christian at an early age and her membership was in the Houston United Methodist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; and a sister, Jessie Shehorn. She is survived by a daughter, Terri Diedrich and husband, Dale of Licking, MO; a son, Kent Simpson of Houston, MO; a brother, Wayne Guffey; two step-grandsons; three step- great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other family members.
