James Edwin Bridgeforth, known as Jim to friends and Smiley to family, passed away July 9, 2019 at the age of 56 years, He is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Sara Bridgeforth, both of Winona, MO, two sons, J.D. Bridgeforth (Brittany) of Pocahontas, AR, Joey Bridgeforth of Winona, his father James D. Bridgeforth and wife Lena of Birch Tree, MO, his mother and step-father Sylvia and Jimmie Wilkerson of Winona, one brother, Tom Bridgeforth (Nancy) of Grayslake, IL, father-in-law Butch Miller of Jacksonville, FL, 3 brother-in-laws, Chris Miller (Pam), Chuck Miller (Ruth Ann), John Miller, all of Florida, tons of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Bridgeforth (Bea) and Edwin Rockwell (Vesta), mother-in-law Mary Miller, who aggravated him, as well as he did her. Jim was a Navy man for over 10 years, He met the love of his life, Debbie, while stationed at May Port Naval Base in Florida. Together they lived an adventurous Naval life, moving up and down the East Coast. In 1989 they decided to make Missouri their permanent home. Jim always had a passion for being on the water, whether it be on a naval boat, tow boat or fishing boat. He was excited when he started his new adventurous career on the riverboats. He was dedicated to his Job for over 22 years. Our life is filled with so many memories. Thinking back to raising our kids together, going camping together, school sports, fishing, hunting, and shooting guns, out trips to Florida and kids graduations from school. Then came along our grandsons, Gabe, River and Sawyer. They are the “apple of our eyes” and Jim always looked forward to going to pick them up for a visit. Mostly I will miss our late night talks in bed…. |
