Jimmie Darold Jackson was born on September 3, 1946, to Charlie and Velma Jackson in Imboden, Arkansas. He made his way back home to his heavenly father on April 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Velma Jackson, sister Leona Duke, and son Keith Jackson. He is survived by his sisters, Irene Frakes, Janis Pratt, Verona Imboden, and Brenda Phenix; children Michell Owens, Brian(Vivian) Jackson, Aprill (Jason) Bolton, and Tina (Brian) Henderson; grandchildren Andre Owens, Austin Owens, Haley Jackson, Brianna Jackson, Chelsey Jackson, Taylor Henderson, and Jackson Henderson. 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jimmie enlisted in the Army September 14, 1966 and was then stationed in Vietnam in the 7th Surgical Hospital. He was honorably discharged September 11, 1967. Jimmie had a passion for singing and playing country music on his guitar. On several occasions he would take his guitar to Mountain View and join in the groups playing and singing on the city square. With a quick wit and a sense of humor he could get a huge laugh from anyone. He enjoyed the banter of joking with others as well as telling great stories, some of which would have people scratching their heads wondering if they were true or not. He had a love for the outdoors and would spend time outside every chance he could get fishing, camping, and hiking in the mountains of Utah. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. |
