Glen Dale Roy, age 80 of Alton, MO was born July 31, 1937 in Couch, MO and passed away February 21, 2018 at his home. Survivors include; his wife Betty Roy of the home, one son, Tony Roy and wife Belinda of Alton, MO, three daughters, Debbie Bunton and husband Donnie of Rolla, MO, Regina Ackley and husband Archie of Lincoln, AR, Sherry Roy of Alton, MO, two brothers, John L. Roy and Dallas Roy of West Plains, MO, one sister, Joann Burke of St. Louis, MO, 14 grandkids, 10 great-grandkids and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovel Roy and Roxie Storms Roy, one brother, Larry Roy, three sisters, Viola Fry, Betty Karkula, Norma Laguna, two granddaughters, Lakisha Roy and Tosha Hollis. Glen was united in marriage to Betty Sisco on June 3, 1960. He worked picking cotton when he was a child, worked on Pigman Ranch and got to saddle horses for the Beatles when they were at the ranch. This was a fond memory of Glen’s. He worked on the Bill Bratton farm for several years, Amex Chair factory, Coca-Cola bottling company, Southwest Truck body and numerous area sawmills. Glen enjoyed visiting with all his family and loved fishing, hunting, working in his garden and yard, and loved planting flowers. Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. JR Andrews officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6-8:00 pm at the funeral home. |
