Anna Lee Hayes Cates was born June 28, 1932. the third of Minn I. and Anna Greer Hayes’ four children. She finished her time on earth at Huntsville Hospital, in Huntsville Alabama on February 16, 2018.

She graduated from Alton High School with the Class of 1950.

On July 31, 1950 she was married to William C Cates. After living in California to complete his tour of duty with the Air Force they relocated to Memphis, Tennessee then Nashville, Tennessee, and finally to Huntsville, Alabama. They were parents of two daughters, Vicki and Kerry.

Ann was a longtime associate with Sears retiring after 25 years. She spent the majority of her adult life in the deep South and was a gracious southern lady, who loved her family and friends unconditionally.

One brother Richard Hayes. Her brother’s-in-law Garland and Tom Cates and sister-in-law Carolyn Cunningham and their spouses and families. Also many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Louise Hayes Wilburn, brother, Minn I Hayes Jr. granddaughter Jaime Brown and grandson Justin Randolph.

Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. JR Andrews officiating. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
