Douglas Michael Roberts, age 34, was born in Springfield, MO November 11, 1983, the son of Michael and Shirley (Cheever) Roberts. He departed this life Friday, December 29, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis, MO. Douglas graduated from Alton High School in 2002. He then received an Associate Degree in Business Management from Missouri State University-West Plains Campus. Then Douglas moved to Springfield, MO to continue his education. Douglas enjoyed singing, writing, fantasy games and computer games. He enjoyed being an uncle to Jacob and Brinleigh and his many phone conversations with Jacob. Douglas enjoyed learning about wolves and had quite a collection of wolf items. He was a loyal friend to many. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and his dog Sadie. Douglas is survived by his mother and father, Michael and Shirley Roberts of Alton, MO, his brother, Dustin Roberts and children, Jacob and Brinleigh, his paternal grandmother, Joyce Roberts of West Plains, uncle Joe Dan and wife Joan Cheever of Alton, uncle Dale Cheever of Birch Tree, MO, uncle Glenn and wife Fara Cheever of West Plains, MO, uncle Glenn and wife Glenda Roberts of Marshfield, MO, and numerous other relatives and friends. Douglas was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Lloyd Roberts, maternal grandparents, Joe and Ora Cheever, uncle James Cheever, uncle Edward Stewart, aunt Sharon Cheever and aunt Pame Cheever. Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO with Bro. Keith Combs officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 1:00 pm until service time. Burial will be on the family farm near Alton, MO. Pallbearers will be Nathan Huddleston, Steven Crigler, Jonathan Clary, Nanthaniel Cheever, Josh Roberts and Travis Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or to the family to help with expenses. |
