Goldina Topaz Hansen, age 85 of Thayer, MO, was born August 5, 1932, in Thayer, MO, to Earl and Lena Mae (Rowden) Nelson, and passed away August 24, 2017, at the Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, MO. She was married to Newman Jr. Childers in September 1947. To this union 4 children were born: Lewis, Evelyn, Mary Beth, and Barbara. She later married James Lee Hansen in December 1965 in Streator, IL.

Survivors include: 3 children, Barbara Cox and husband Robert, Mary Beth Everett and husband James, Lewis Childers and wife Betty; 8 grandchildren, Nancy Everett, Sherrie Everett, Becky Doubet & husband Marcus, Tonya Richards and husband Gearold, Tracey Ford and husband Chuck, Teri Cox, Bonnie Mitchell & husband Shorty, and Jeannie Geissinger and husband Milt; 2 step-granddaughters, Amber and Andrea; 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-great-grandchildren; her cousins, JoAnn Shepherd, Donna Qualls and Shelly Wickham; 1 sister-in-law, Berdie Nelson; and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Earl and Lena Mae (Rowden) Nelson; 2 husbands, Newman Jr. Childers, and James Lee Hansen; her daughter, Evelyn Dustin.

Goldina was of the Baptist Faith, and owned & operated the “Country Cottage” in Thayer, MO, for 32 years.

Services will be 2pm Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with burial following in the Walker Cemetery in Thayer, MO. Visitation will be 1pm-2pm just prior to the service.
