Russell John Kallak age 84 of Alton, MO was born in St. John, MO to Russell Kallak Sr and Brookie Parcell Kallak on July 31, 1933 and entered into Eternal Rest on August 7, 2017 at his home in Alton. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Brookie Kallak, 2 sisters, Norma Jean Ferrari of Roxana, Illinois and Janet Terry of Sydney, Nova Scotia. Russell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma Jean Smith Kallak, of the home in Alton, MO, many family, friends, nieces, and nephews that "Uncle Russ" loved very much....including Kalon Honeycutt and wife Allanah and Eric Honeycutt and wife Taylor who are serving in the United States Air Force in New Mexico and Louisiana. Russell served his country in the United States Army with the HQ Btry 3444th SU at Camp Stewart, GA Russell and Norma were united in marriage on July 20, 1956 in Bellville, Illinois. They lived the majority of their married lives in the St Louis area with Russell working for Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, MO retiring after 27 years of service. After retiring the Kallak's made their home in Alton, MO where Uncle Russ spent his days working on the house, mowing his yard, spending time traveling with his wife, Norma and their puppy. Later he enjoyed just spending time around home, going to church, visiting with friends and family, spending his days outside as long as his health allowed. Russell was a member of the Alton Assembly of God Church and The American Legion Post 344 at Thayer. He loved God, his wife, his dog and cat and family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Gideons or The Ozark Food Harvest. Services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Alton Assembly of God Church with Bro, Robert Chastain and Bro. Darrell Strain officiating. Visitation 10-11:00 am at the church. Burial in the Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. |
