William Henry “Bill” Nelson, age 72 of Thayer, MO, was born September 1, 1944, in Thayer, MO, and passed away November 30, 2016, at his home. Bill owned/operated Nelson Tire in the Thayer & Mammoth Spring area for 20+ years.

Survivors include: 1 sister, JoAnn Shephard of Streeter, IL; 1 brother, C.W. Nelson & wife Paulette of Medina, TN; 1 son, William P. Nelson of Warm Springs, NV; 1 grandson, Dakota Collins of Dora, MO; his close friends, Don Linson, Archie & Joyce Madden, and Basil and Shirley Land; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Clarence W. and Mollie L (Hogan) Nelson; his grandparents, Ben & Dora Nelson; 1 sister, Peggie Burnett and husband Tom; 1 brother-in-law, Bud Shephard; 3 cousins, Loretta Linson, L.V. Nelson, and Earline Clark.

Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with burial in the Walker Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
