Norman Lyle Strickbine, age 86 of Thayer, MO was born July 19, 1930 in Herrington, KS and passed away November 27, 2016 at his home. Survivors include; his wife Norma Bowen Bates-Strickbine, one sister, Lila Hofschulte, one brother, Steve Strickbine, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Strickbine and Artie Elma Young-Strickbine, seven brothers, Elmond, Marvin, Noel, Dennis, Jerry, Gordon and Tom, one sister, Sandra. Norman was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. Following his time in the service, he was employed by Lockheed Aerospace. He was an accomplished photographer, including photos from the Korean War, several appearing in books he co-authored about the Korean War. Norman’s body will be cremated, then interred in the Missouri Veteran’s National Cemetery, Springfield, MO, with full military honors.
