Mary Ann “Joyce†Cates, age 80 of Alton, MO was born November 8, 1936 in Paragould, AR and passed away on November 8, 2016 at Ozarks Medical Center. Survivors include; Tim Cates and wife Linda Gail of West Plains, Mo. Kathy Johnson and husband Craig of Alton, Mo. Bill Cates and wife Linda Sue of Thomasville, Mo. five grandchildren, Brad Johnson and wife Angela, Allison Roberts, Stephanie Cates, Brittany Cates, Jared Cates and wife Casey, eight great-grandchildren, Cassie, Corey, Carter and Camden Roberts, Ryan and Avery Johnson, Hudson Baldwin, Ella and Addison Sanders, two brothers, Clay Pickney and wife Sue, Jim Pickney, two sisters, Maxine Hayes and Pat Miller and husband Mike, two sister-in-laws, Helen Holmes and Nancy Cates, and several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Laura Yates-Pickney,, her husband Herman Nelson Cates. Joyce was united in marriage to Herman Cates on April 16, 1955 in Hernando, MS. She was a member of the Alton Assembly of God Church. Services will be 11:00 am Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Alton Assembly of God Church with Bro. Robert Chastain officiating, burial in the Huddleston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Cates, Bill Cates, Craig Johnson, Brad Johnson, Jared Cates and Nathan Sanders. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00-8:00pm at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Joyce. |
