Dale Marvin Huddle was born January 3, 1918, in Reeves, Nebraska, the son of Charles and Addie Kerns Huddle. He departed this life on September 21, 2016, at the age of 98 years, 8 months, and 18 days. He entered the Army on February 20, 1942, and served until January 8, 1946, during which time he was awarded several medals. On February 7, 1946, he was married to Jane Erma Taylor in Nebraska, and they moved to Missouri in 1950. He was employed by Cover Lumber for 16 years and was also a carpenter. He is survived by: 9 children, Elsie Rogers and husband Mick of St. Charles, MO, Sherie Mariott and husband Jerry of Jonesboro, AR, Allen Huddle and wife Ruth of Jonesboro, AR, Ron Huddle and wife Gayla of Thayer, MO, Eugene Huddle and wife Janice of Salem, AR, Charlie Huddle and wife Polly of Midway, AR, Kathy Stuart of West Plains, MO, Howard Huddle and wife Sherry of Ft. Smith, AR, and Craig Huddle and wife Sherry of Ozark, MO; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Jane, on September 3, 1977; his parents, Charlies and Addie (Kerns) Huddle; 3 brothers, Howard, Paul, and Clifford; and 1 sister, Louise Boyer. He was a Christian and was very active in his church, the Myrtle Freewill Baptist Church, for 50 years. He also enjoyed his friends at Myrtle Senior Center. He was an upright, kind, and gentle man, who was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the Myrtle Freewill Baptist Church in Myrtle, MO, with Rev. Dale Skiles, Rev. Bion Irwin and Dr. Ladd Scriber officiating. Visitation will be 1pm-2pm Sunday at the church just prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO. Pallbearers: Allen Huddle, Ron Huddle, Charlie Huddle, Howard Huddle, Craig Huddle, Jerry Marriott, Eugene Huddle In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Myrtle Cemetery. |
