Billy Franklin Johnson, age 79 of Thayer, MO, was born January 13, 1937, in Heavener, OK, and passed away February 22, 2016, at his home. Survivors include: his wife, Sharon (Pulley) Johnson, of the home; 4 sons, BJ Johnson and wife Karen, Robert Thompson, Will Thompson and wife Kendra, and Jake Johnson and wife Sarah; 2 sisters, Betty Rickman and Dorotha Stilts; 13 grandchilrden; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and foster kids; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Willie A. and Winnie E. (Rex) Johnson; 1 sister, Elizabeth Taylor. Billy spent his early years in Orange County, CA, before serving 6 years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the Special Forces. He was married to Sharon February 16, 1968, with whom he had just celebrated their 48th anniversary. He spent 20 years as a heavy equipment operated and moved to the Thayer area in January of 1988, where he loved to fish any chance he got. Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. Robert Brown and Bro. Wayne Hurst officiating, with burial in the Thayer Cemetery. Visitation will be 6p-8pm Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Clary Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO. |
