Alice Deane Simpson, age 76 of Alton, MO, was born June 11, 1939 near Thayer, MO and passed away February 1, 2016 at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, MO. Survivors include; her husband Gary, two children, Holly Johannsen and Keith Simpson, five grandchildren, Billy, David, Nathan, Toby and Jennifer, a sister, Glenda Snodgrass and husband Doug, and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Wayne Herbold and Alice Loree Reef Herbold. Deane was a graduate of the Thayer High School and a longtime member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, Thayer, MO. She and Gary were united in marriage for 52 years, the same number of years they owned and operated Simpsons True Value in Alton. Along with Gary, she was always willing to support and donate to area projects and group activities. Deane loved to cook and of course visit. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Alton 1st Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating, interment in the Bailey Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 pm at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks or St. Judes Children’s Hospital. |
