Alfred Lon Alford, age 99 of Alton, MO, was born September 20, 1916, in Jobe, MO, and passed away November 20, 2015, at the West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains, MO. Survivors include: 1 daughter, Janice Richardson & husband Dick, of Alton, MO; 1 son, Charles Alford and wife Bobbi of Alton, MO; 4 grandchildren, Frank Alford of Alton, MO, James Alford of Alton, MO, Brandi Sutherland and husband Kelly of West Plains, MO, and Amanda Wheeler and husband Drew of West Plains, MO; 5 great-grandchildren, Dalton Moore, Kassidy Moore, Johnny Sutherland, Hannah Wheeler, and Ellie Wheeler; 2 sisters, Lela Riggs of Kansas City, MO, and Helen Buckner of Virginia Beach, VA; 1 brother, Haston Alford of Malin, OR; and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded by: his wife, Velma Lee (Todd) Alford; his parents, William Frank Alford and Lila B. (Rogers) Alford; 6 sisters, Nellie Phelps, Dorothy Robinson, Vera Greathouse, Sylvia Phillips, Opal Bennet, and Walta Miller; and 2 brothers, Owen Alford and Floyd Alford. Services will be 2pm Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating, and burial in the Bailey Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. Pallbearers; Frank, James and Don Alford, Dalton Moore, Arthur Miller and Eugene Phillips. |
