Amos “Dean” Campbell, son of the late Cleitus Owen Campbell and Opal Lee Andrews Campbell Dixon was born January 28th, 1950 in West Plains, Missouri and died June 25, 2015 in Alton, Missouri at the age of 65 years.

He was united in marriage on May 3, 1969 in Salem, Arkansas to Carolyn Marie Bettis Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Marie Bettis Campbell, of their home in Alton, Missouri: one son, Travis Campbell and wife Tiffany, one daughter, Michelle Lea Campbell Finley and husband Jason Finley of West Plains, Missouri. He is survived by one brother, Duane Campbell, Freda McClanahan and husband, Gary of Alton, Missouri. Neda Owens and husband George of Kilgore, Texas.

In addition he is survived by his ten grandchildren: Travis’ children consist of: William Heilman of Birch Tree, Missouri, Dustyn Heilman of Mountain Home, Idaho, Caleb Campbell of Thayer, Missouri, Trevor and Treyton Campbell of Birch Tree, Missouri, and Samantha Williams and Travis Dean Campbell Jr. of West Plains, Missouri. Michelle’s children consist of: Felicity Marie Finley, Cordell Mayson Finley, and Creed Campbell Finley of West Plains, Missouri.

He was preceded by his parents: Cletius and Opal Campbell, two brothers, Vernon and Kenneth Campbell, and one sister, Jessa Lee Glover.

He had a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, and a great grandson.

He was a born again believer in Christ who loved to witness to whomever crossed his path. He and his wife used their motorcycle to minister to hundreds of individuals at rallies, prisons, and everyday life. He was quite the jokester who played pranks on his friends hoping to make them happy. He loved to make people smile since he found their laughter enjoyable. His wife, children, and grandchildren were very important to him. He also found a loving family in his wife’s brothers.

Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Victory Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Jason Roberts officiating and eulogy by Felicity Finley. Visitation Saturday, 6:00-8:00 pm at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Burial will be in the Huddleston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carthel Bettis, Jeff Peace, Ronnie Bettis, Bob Cypret, Mike Bettis, Jerry Bettis, honorary pallbearers: Noble McFann, Ray Ginder and Kenny Campbell.
