James D. Johnson, son of the late Leslie Johnson and Opal Bettis Johnson was born April 14, 1944 at Alton, MO and departed this life May 19, 2015 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, MO at the age of 71 Years.

He was united in marriage April 28, 1966 at Lemore, CA to Lois Weldin, who survives. Other survivors include; his step-children, Janice, Allen, Harry, Walter, Joyce, Lois, Robert, Barbara, Eddie, Johnny and Thomas, all of California, six brothers, Eddie Johnson of Alton, MO, Chester Johnson and wife Mary of Pevely, MO, Russell of Thayer, MO, Larry Johnson and wife Debbie of Bonne Terre, MO, Dale Johnson of West Plains, MO, Rick Johnson of West Plains, MO, two sisters, Kay Bryan and husband Mike of Willow Springs, MO and Nancy Walker and husband Kenneth of Myrtle, MO. Preceding him in death were his parents, daughter, brother and two sisters,

James was of the Baptist Faith.

Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, with Bro. JR Andrews officiating, burial in the Cave Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Singers will be Priscilla Andrews and Kathleen Wilson, pallbearers, Eddie, Chester, Russell, Larry, Dale and Rick Johnson, honorary pallbearer Mike Moore.
