John Albert Beck III, age 78 of Thayer, MO, was born August 14, 1936, in Thayer, MO, and passed away March 19, 2015, at his home. Preceding him in death were his parents, John A. Beck JR and Helen Mae (Bone) Beck.

A lifelong resident who was very proud of his home town of Thayer, John graduated from Thayer High School in 1954, and after attending college for a short time he worked for the Bank of Thayer for a brief period of time in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. Being an avid lover of movies, John then took over his parents’ Beck Theatre and Beck Drive-In where he was a long time owner and operator. John also served as a Thayer city alderman, and was a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians having traveled to numerous magic shows and conventions across the country. He enjoyed reading books and loved spending time at the library, and will be remembered as always being dressed nicely as well as always having a friendly attitude.

Visitation will be Noon to 1pm Friday, March 27, 2015, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with funeral services to follow at 1pm and burial in the Thayer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
