James Everett McDaniel, age 70 of West Plains, MO, was born April 28, 1944, in Williford, AR, and passed away January 26, 2015, at his home. James is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Secrest, to whom he was married on December 27, 1977.

Survivors include: his wife, Norma; 5 daughters, Lisa Harmon of West Plains, MO, Jackie Williamson of West Plains, MO, Michelle Brotherton of West Plains, MO, Sheila Rhoades of West Plains, MO, and Angela Baldridge of West Plains, MO; 3 sons, Josh McDaniel of Thayer, MO, Mark Lester of Piedmont, MO, and Ricky King of Marion, IN; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Teresa Anderson, Brenda Riddle, Linda Headley, and Sue Holmes; 1 brother, Gayle King; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Everett McDaniel and Audrey (Adair) King; 1 daughter, Tammy McDaniel; 1 son, Michael Lester; 2 grandsons, Keifer Pike and Rowdy Brotherton; 1 great-granddaughter, Gracieanne McClung; 1 great-grandson, Tyler Boucher; 1 sister, Jerry Brown; 1 brother, Jessie King, Jr.; and his step-father, Jessie King, Sr.

James was a head sawyer who was extremely proud of his work, and whom everyone regarded “The Best”. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord.

Services will be 2pm Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO with Bro Wayne Hurst officiating. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Thursday, January 29, 2015. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
