Edward William “Bill” Hicks, age 79 of Alton, MO was born September 3, 1935 in Martinsville, IN and passed away December 25, 2014 at the Ozarks Medical, West Plains, MO. He was united in marriage to Barbara Lee Wood on June 7, 1948 in Martinsville, IN, who survives. Other survivors include; two sons, William Hicks and wife Candi of Lakeview, NY, Michael Hicks and wife Mai of Greenfield, CA, two daughters, Wendy Parrish of West Plains, MO, Cindy Lance and husband Denzil of Alton, MO, ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Angelia, Sherry and husband Edmund, Eric, Jim, Cory and wife Teisha, Shaylin, Jasmine, Christopher and Kevin, seven great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Kira, Zara, C.J., Zoey, Morgan and Bryson, three brothers, James Hicks of Martinsville, IN, Norris Hicks and wife Denise of Orlando, FL, Butch Hicks of Indianapolis, IN, one sister, Linda Skotts and husband Woody of Martinsville, IN, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Hicks and step-mother Melbie, his mother, Ola Grimes and step-father Raulie, one infant grandson William Lee Hicks, JR, one infant sister, Louella Hicks, one brother, John Hicks and wife Carol. Bill was a man of many trades. He was a cabinetmaker, shade tree mechanic, and machinist, among a few. He was in the Air Force and member of the National Guard. He enjoyed woodworking, playing with his grand-kids and helping others. He loved to laugh, but most of all he loved our Lord and Savior. He will always be cherished by his family and friends. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. |
