Thomas Joseph “Tom” Parker, Sr. born March 13, 1939 in Wilmington, De to Margaret Nellie Gilligan and Alfonzo Parker.

Passed away in Clearwater Fl Sept 14, 2014 from an apparent heart attack during a business trip.

Tom attended school in Elkton, MD; He graduated from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington De., with a degree in business. He completed a course with the Delaware State Board for Vocational Education, in cooperation with Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Association in Fire Fighting, Dover, DE in 1961.

Earned a Certificate of Achievement for 25 years in the Auction Business/Florida Auction Unlimited.

Tom started his working career produce manager for ACME; then worked for Chrysler Auto Plant as security guard in Newark, De; after this he became an entrepreneur of various businesses; He owned Bowling alleys in De and Fl, Bar in Pa, Car Lots/Sales in Fl, Auction businesses in Florida, Barter Business, Travel Agent, Mortgage & Title Co.

Tom moved to Alton, MO. 2008 and raised sheep and then cows. He enjoyed the life on his 50 acre plantation. Just became too much as time moved on and had to sell livestock.

Tom loved to camp in his early years with his family (Indian Rocks Beach, De, Flagler Beach, Fl, Keys in Fl, etc). Later in life he loved to travel especially cruises to the Caribbean and Europe. One of his favorite was from Singapore to Hong Kong to Vietnam back to Singapore. Completed 32 cruises.

He is now at peace, resting with his beloved children, daughter Cindy Lou Parker passed 2007, sons Michael “Mike” Parker passed 2010, and Thomas Joseph “Tim” Parker, Jr passed 2014. He was also preceded in death by his mother Margaret, step-father Jack Dancy, whom Tom considered his real father, and niece Jeanne Pippin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 yrs Sallie Ann Guiberson Parker, Alton, Mo, grand-daughters Jackie Holmes and her husband Chris Olinick Fl, Jeannette Parker Fl, and grandson Bobbie Holmes and his wife Jessica, Fl, and 4 Great Grandchildren, sister Pat Jones, Md, nieces Pat Wiltfang, Iowa, Margaret Bounds; Maryland, Jamie Pippin Pierson, Kim McKeown, Marianne Hall, nephews Eric Jones, Md, Eddie Eldreth, Sister-in-laws Lana Pippin and husband Bill and Joy Eldreth and Kyle of Md.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Clary Funeral Home Chapel, Alton, MO.
