Anna Marie Roberts, age 74, of Alton, Missouri, was born October 19, 1939, in Royal Oak, Missouri and passed away on June 28, 2014 in her home near Royal Oak.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Newman Roberts & wife Kim of West Plains, Missouri; Herbert Mack Roberts & wife Dana of Alton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Josh Roberts & wife Leslie, of Alton, Missouri, Minnie Roberts, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; Casey Warren & husband Rodney, of Alton, Missouri; six step grandchildren Jeff, Shawn, Michelle, Brian, William, & Michael Klassen; 4 great-grandaughters, Gracetyn Mackenzie & Alayna McKay Warren, of Alton, Missouri; Zoe Keegan Gurley, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; Anna Kathryn Roberts, of Alton, Missouri; four step great-grandchildren, Whitley & Olivia Klassen, Nolan Klassen, Luxy Denis; one sister-in-law, Joyce Roberts.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Malcolm & Ellen German, her husband, Luie Roberts.
Anna grew up in the Royal Oak community & attended the Royal Oak & Thomasville schools. She married Luie Roberts on June 29, 1956 in Arnold, Missouri. Anna worked for Dick & Jo Boyd in the MFA Insurance office. In the early sixties she worked as a caretaker for Miss Gum & began her career with the Alton Bank in May of 1969. She continued her work at the bank until her retirement in 2009. Together, Anna & Luie made many lifelong friends whom they enjoyed traveling & spending time with.

Anna was a generous Christian lady who attended Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Alton. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, & spending time with family & friends. She was an outspoken, vibrant woman with a personality that filled any room. She dealt with life’s struggles with great dignity & grace.

She leaves us with this thought, life is not about waiting for the storms to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Honorary Pallbearers are Connie Young, Carol Homer, Marge Slayton, Laurel Johnson, Sue Hertzog, Nancy Shaw, Beckie Combs, & Brenda Bell. Active Pallbearers are Tom Young, Mark Homer, Barry Slayton, Tom Johnson, Jim Hertzog, Dusty Shaw, Randall Combs, & Stanley Bell.

Services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday June 30th at Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Alton with Brother Jason Roberts officiating with burial to follow at Huddleston Cemetery near Royal Oak. Memorial contributions can be made to Huddleston Cemetery & the OMC Cancer Treatment Center.
