Larry Duane Richardson, the son of the late Wesley Wayne and Mary Christine Richardson, was born July 22, 1951 in West Plains, MO. He entered into eternal rest May 29, 2014 at his home in Alton, MO at the age of 62 years. After graduating from Alton High School with the Class of 1969, Larry was employed by Gum Motor Company in Alton. He then went on to work for Frisco Railroad before starting his own business, which included buying and trading cars and auto salvage. He also owned an over-the-road trucking service for several years. In most recent years he has been self employed on the farm and assisted his son, Greg, with the Richardson Sawmill. He enjoyed restoring and rebuilding classic cars and trucks, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Larry married Rita Jo Knowles on January 18, 1975 in West Plains and they were blessed with two children. Survivors include; his wife Rita of the family home, one son, Gregory Duane and wife Amanda of Alton, MO, one daughter, Courtney Joelle of Rogersville, MO. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lacy Jo, Laina Beth, Brock David, Bryce Thomas and Karli Nicole; one brother, Gary Wayne Richardson and wife Janie of Alton; one sister, Jo Barnett and husband Ronnie of Doniphan, MO and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Larry will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Cotton Creek cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00-8:00 pm at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. |
