Robert S. Johnson, age 89 of Mammoth Spring, AR was born March 30, 1924 in Ewing, NE and passed away at Shady Oaks Healthcare, Thayer, MO. Survivors include; three children, Cathy Smith and husband George of Mammoth Spring, AR, Stacy Bridgman and husband Daniel of Springfield, MO, Robert C. Johnson of Mammoth Spring, AR. Five grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Robert E. Johnson, Kali M. Johnson, Corey L. Bridgman and Brenton K. Bridgman, one great-grandchild, Erin Smith, one brother, Tommy Johnson, one sister, Delores Wilkins, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.D. Johnson and Cora Mae McCafferty Johnson, two wives, Ruth and Goldie, two sisters, Ellen and Kathryn, four brothers, Jack, Donny, Charles and Roy. Robert retired from the U. S. Navy after 23 years of service, including World War II, Korea and Vietnam, achieving the rank of E-9/Master Chief. He was employed at Cover Lumber, Thayer, MO for several years, was a long time member of the Church of Christ and was a member of the Naval Fleet Reserve Association, Mtn. Home, AR. Services will be 1:00pm Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO, with burial in the Riverside Cemetery, Mammoth Spring, AR. |
