Ronald Emmett Belongy was born October 22, 1933, in Springfield, MO, to Edward and Ruth Belongy. He passed to eternal life on October 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Paga and his brother Mike.

Upon graduation from Thayer High School Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Navy for three years. He then went to work for Frisco Railroad until he retired in September 1995. The next few years he was a substitute teacher in the school systems of Thayer and Mammoth Spring, AR. Ronnie was an avid sports fan and truly loved his Thayer Bobcats. He was a longtime member of Thayer First Baptist Church.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Bette, his daughter Tara (Ernie) Glenn, his daughter Rona (Richard) Keniston, son Page (Peggy) Belongy and his sister Judy Billing. Along with children they raised Bill Belongy, J.R. Baker, Mary Lee, Velma Farris and several nieces and nephews. Grandchildren include Teah (Theo) Morris, Le’Ann Belongy, Kindra (Charlie) Hale, Abby, Alex, Ben, Tyler and Nick Belongy. Great-Grandchildren are Kaleb and Gage Hale, Austin Barton, McKenzie Morris, Hunter Belongy, Landyn, Bentley, Jaylianna and Owen Belongy, Wyatt Young and Hayden Glenn. We’ll Miss You, Popo!

Graveside services will be 2pm Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, MO. Arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO.
