Billie Joe Bonnell, Beloved Father, Husband, Grandfather, And Friend To Many, was born on August 13, 1932 and departed this world on June 17, 2013 at 9:15 p.m. at the age of 80. Bill grew up in Magnolia Arkansas, then moved to Iraan, Texas in the early 1950’s where he worked in the oil fields through out his life, retiring in 1990. He married the love of his life Gracie Mae (Simmons) Bonnell on November 7th, 1949 in Goodwill, Lousiana. Bill and Gracie were married 53 years before she passed away. Bill enjoyed driving, working on lawn mowers, fishing, catching rattle snakes, trapping, camping, and loved playing with all children. He was a kind man and would go out of his way to help any one who needed it. Bill is survived by 4 children, Jean Beaver and her husband Kenneth of Big Lake Texas, Janice Fields and her Husband Jimmy Of Alton, MO, Billy D. Bonnell and wife Janie of San Angelo Texas, and Jerry Bonnell and wife Polly of Alton. MO, Eight grandchildren Danny Beaver, Jerry Fields, Darcy Russell, Bonnie Deckard, Johnny Fields, Mary Lisek, Linda Bonnell (Macormik), and Katie Bonnell, one sister Minnie Cormeia of Midland, TX 15 Great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in his death by his loving wife Gracie Mae (Simmons) Bonnell, his parents Shack Waller Bonnell and Cora Estelle Shumway Bonnell, siblings Albert Bonnell, David Bonnell, Inez Lum and Betty Tracey.

Services will be at 10:00am Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, with burial in the Huddleston Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Parrott, Garrett Middeleton, Jerry Don Fields, Johnny Fields, Jimmy Don Fields, Danny Beaver, singer Holly Johansen and piano player Kathleen Crigler. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
