Bruce Jon Simpson, age 51 of Alton, MO, was born October 6, 1961, in West Plains, MO, and passed away May 23, 2013, at the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO.

Survivors include: his aunt and uncle, Irene and Leroy Chronister; 13 cousins, Kathleen Crigler, Dwight Chronister, Lesa Rothgeb, Mary Ann Roberts, Jim Dotson, Gary Dotson, Connie Vance, Mike Ruff, Steve Ruff, Susie Thompson, Glenn Earl Andrews, Keith Andrews, and Jackie Wade; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Donald Hugh and Mary Aleta (Howell) Simpson; 2 aunts, Wilma Dotson and Anna Jean Andrews; his maternal grandparents, Posey and Mary Howell; his paternal grandparents, Heman and Thelma Simpson.

Bruce was a Christian, and loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed sports of all kinds, and was an avid Cardinals fan. He was also very fond of his courthouse family, where he was employed for over 30 years.

The family has asked that any contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the OMC Foundation.

Services will be 10am Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Clary Funeral Home in Alton, MO, with Bro. Jason Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. Pallbearers will be Dwight Chronister, Andy Crigler, Joe Rothgeb, Gary Dotson, Richard Chronister and Craig Chronister.
