Mary E. Haigwood Mockridge, 76, passed away March 17, 2013.

She was born June 1, 1936 in Springfield, MO to William Albert and Alma (Sifford) Haigwood.

Mary grew up in Alton, MO and after graduation she attended Drury College. Years later she moved to the Kansas City area and has been a resident of Gladstone, MO for the last 44 years.

Mary retired as a legal secretary from Farmland Industries after 20 years. She was very involved with her service sorority, Beta Sigma Phi as well as Meadowlark Extension Club. She was also a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Mary had a big heart and loved to help and be around people. She enjoyed her time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Billy.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Beth (Steve) Sprecher; grandchildren Cole, Jake, Macy and Grayson; brother Richard Haigwood and wife Kathy, as well as other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 21 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the White Chapel Funeral Home Gladstone, MO.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 AM at the Hickory Grove Cemetery Alton, MO, under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO.
