Kimberly “Kim” Jean (Daily) Johnsen was born in Fairfax, Missouri on September 4th, 1958 at Community Hospital to proud parents Wanda L. and Frank E. Daily. Kim was a curious and loving child who was known well for her loud and infectious laugh. She always had a bright smile on her face and always wanted to know as much as she could about everything and how it worked. She had a huge place in her heart for animals and would rescue an animal-in-need at any opportunity she got. Kim grew up in Fairfax, Missouri, where she attended school up her graduation from Fairfax High School. After graduation, she left for Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, where she discovered and joined the Church-of-Jesus-Christ-of-Latter-Day-Saints (LDS). Upon joining the church, Kim transferred to Brigham Young University (BYU) where she met and married her first husband Julio C. Caycedo and attained a Bachelor's degree. Not long after, Kim's only daughter Erica C.(Caycedo) Camp was born. The family moved to Guam in 1990, where Kim successfully pursued a Master's degree and taught English as a Second Language (ESL) at the University of Guam until returning to the States in 1995. Kim began working at Creighton University teaching ESL to foreign-exchange students in Omaha, Nebraska. Kim met and married her second husband, James “Jim” W. Johnsen, Jr. while living in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they moved to Alton, Missouri and brought along Kim's mother Wanda from Fairfax. Since then they have enjoyed small-town living in a quiet and humble community. It came as quite a shock when Kim was found deceased on Monday morning – March 18, 2013. She had died peacefully in her sleep from congenital heart failure as a result of Sleep Apnea. Kim is survived by James W. Johnsen, Jr. (husband), Wanda L. McGinty (mother), Erica C. (Caycedo) Camp (daughter), Erica's husband Brandon L. Camp (son-in-law) and their two children, Scarlett M. and Murphy H. Camp (Kim's grand-children) – amongst many loving animals. A Memorial Service has been arranged to take place on Saturday evening at 7pm at the LDS church in West Plains. The address for the service is: 2800 Christie Drive, West Plains, MO 65775 |
