Joe Lewis Bates, age 70 of Alton, MO was born July 24, 1942 in Alton, MO and passed away March 8, 2013 at his home.

Survivors include; his wife Kay, four children, Marty Bates, Shajuana Bates, Scotty Bates, Melissa Bettis, three sisters, Sally Sisco, Patsy Hahn, Cathy Ridenhour, five brothers, Boyd, Danny, Mac, Floyd and Richard Bates, three step-daughters, Sherri Littles, Pam Friend, Rena Ford, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lyle Bates and Elsie Morrison-Bates, one sister, Anita Wilcox and one son, Jeffrey Bates.

Services will be 1:00pm Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO. Cremation will follow the service.
