Violet Bonnie Johnson of Alton, MO was born, July 1, 1922 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Elzie and Pearl Simpson. She departed this life, September 18, 2012 at the age of 90. She received Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Free Will Baptist Church of Alton, Missouri until she moved to Neosho, Missouri. She then attended New Testament Free Will Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Nolen F. Johnson and, to this union four children were born. She is preceded in death by Nolen and two children, Gordon Douglas and Barbara Ann. She looked forward to going to church and delighted in being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved music, especially Southern Gospel music. She is survived by two children, Nora Rhodes and husband, Michael of Neosho, Missouri and Russell Johnson and wife Vonda of Waynesville, Missouri. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Joanna Watson and Ernie Rhodes, four great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Services will be 2:00pm Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Clary Funeral Home, Alton, MO, with burial in the Cave Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. |
