Donald Edward Ross was born to Theta Taylor Ross and Everett Ross June 13, 1933. He departed this life August 19, 2012. He is survived by: his wife, Elizabeth Aliene Ross of the home; his children, Judy Ross Marshall and husband Ron, Brenda Ross, Steve Ross and wife Sandy; his grandchildren, Mr. And Mrs. Brian Holmes, and Savanna, Mr. And Mrs. Eric Holmes, Gavin and Grady, Steven Ross Jr. and Scott Ross. In his marriage to Elizabeth he was blessed with the addition of her family: children, Mr. And Mrs. Grant Watson, Mr. And Mrs. Steven Watson, Mr. And Mrs. Daryl Watson; grandchildren, Nicholas, Gabrielle, Joshua, Amelia, Daniel, Michaela, Leah, Rachel, Mason, Adina, and Caleb. Don Ross served in the United States Air Force and is a Korean War Veteran. He was the owner of Don Ross Co. Realtors in Alton, MO. In previous years this office also included his appraisal business, insurance company, excavation business, and real estate development company. Most all of his life he had a cattle farm. In December 2010, he received a 50 year pin from the National Association of Realtors, and the Missouri Association of Realtors. This token of achievement is very seldom given and is respected by all in the real estate business. He served several terms as the Ozark Trail Board of Realtors President, and he served as a state director for that board. Also, he served for several years on the Industrial Development Committee in Howell County. Don also served as a Republican Committee member in Oregon County, Missouri, and was several times the Chairman. He was a former mayor of Alton, MO, a long standing member of the Alton Masonic Lodge 255, active member of the Alton United Methodist Church, a member of the Alton Rotary, Rotary Paul Harris Fellow of the Mountain Home, AR Rotary. Funeral services will be 10am Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Alton United Methodist Church, with burial in the Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Clary Funeral Home from 6pm-7pm Wednesday, August 22, 2012, with a Celebration of Life service being held 7pm-8pm Wednesday evening. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, MO. |
