Barbara Hellen (McBride) Custer, 77, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis in Wichita, KS. She was born April 23, 1935, in Thayer, MO, to Charley and Verna McBride. She married Raymond Custer on July 13, 1984, in Garden City, who died on October 29, 2011. A Garden City resident, Mrs. Custor worked as a salesperson for Robinson Furniture and Carl’s Furniture. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holcomb, KS. She is survived by: 4 sons, Gary Clark of Thayer, MO, Keith Clark of Bakersfield, CA, Patrick Clark of Ione, CA, and Charles Clark of Allen, TX; a brother, John McBride of Springfield, MO; one sister, Marylene Lingo of Grovetown, GA; a step daughter, Eileen Trenckmann of Colby, KS; two step-sons, Gary Custer of Curtice, OH, and Donald Custer of Pagosa Springs, CO; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: a brother, Dale McBride; and 2 sisters, Earlene Miller and Wanda Lee Stone. A memorial service will be held 2pm Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO. |
