Douglas Arthur Winterfeld was born May 30, 1976 in McHenry Illinois and passed away from cancer on March 19, 2012 at his home in Wirth, AR. Douglas was the son of the late Arthur D. Winterfeld and Carolyn Sourile Nuwer. Doug graduated from Alton High School in 1994 and entered the Marine Corp, earning the rank of Corporal. He worked in different fields but was a mason in his last years. He loved hunting and fishing. In 2006 he met the love of his life, Heather Robertson and her daughters, Jordan and Alexis Simpson. Doug is survived by Heather, Jordan and Alexis of the home, his mother and step-father John and Carolyn Nuwer of Alton, MO, his brother Donavan and Crystal Deckard Winterfeld, his niece, Isabella of Alton, MO. A very special Aunt and Uncle, Edward and Marguerite Bartik of Alton, MO and his numerous cousins and many, many friends. He was a member of the American Legion in Hardy, AR. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur D. Winterfeld, his grandparents, George and Hattie Sourile, Walter and Helen Winterfeld, Uncles Kenneth and Duke Sourile and Aunts Elsa Hoose and Dolores Sourile. Doug will be missed by all whose life he touched. Services will be at 10:00am Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Scared Heart Catholic Church, Thayer, MO with Father Joe officiating, burial in the Edd Collins Cemetery, Wirth, AR. Visitation will 6:00-8:00pm Thursday at the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, MO. |
