Peggy Ann Boren, age 78 of Thayer, MO was born April 15, 1933 in Crocker, MO and passed away January 20, 2012 at her home. Survivors include; her husband Gene of the home, two grandsons, Paul and Jeffrey Boren, one granddaughter, Stacey Boren, one sister, Patsy Corner and husband David, numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death her by parents, Harry Roam and Goldie Payne Roam, one son, Paul Boren and one brother, Harry Roam. Peggy and Gene were united in marriage on September 1, 1955. She worked many years for the May Company, was host and a board member of Missouri State Trail Ride Association, a member of the Thayer Chamber of Commerce, Thayer Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, a board member of Oregon County Country Music Theater, a board member of Fun and Friends Senior Center in Thayer, Oregon County Republican Committee member-Thayer precinct. She obeyed the gospel in 1959, and was a member of the Old Welcome Hill Church of Christ in Mammoth Spring, AR. People who knew Peggy loved her, and admired her hard working attitude. She truly was Gene’s helpmate. Services will be 2pm Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. Ben Shropshire officiating, burial in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO. |
