Dorothy Presley, age 81, of Springfield MO, and formerly of Alton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 12, 2011. She was born January 10, 1930, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of John & Gladys (Griffith) Botts. On November 7, 1948, she was married to John F. (Sam) Presley.

She is survived by 5 children: Kathy (Floyd) Wickins, John (Susan) Presley, Bill (Becky) Presley, Kay (Roger) Osborne, & Kristy Presley. 8 grandchildren: Cynthia (Leon) Keller, Chad (Loretta) Wickins, Bert Presley, Natalie (Jeff) Broekhoven, Jonathan (Katie) Presley, Joshua Presley, Katlyn Osborne, & Chance Presley. 7 great-grandchildren: Aerica & Odel Presley, Reece, Emery, & Tessa Keller, Jared Wickins, & Pippa Broekhoven. 3 step-grandchildren: Tori, Beth, Matthew Whittenburg, Uncle: Bob Griffith, Aunt & special friend: JoAnn Griffith, 4 nieces & 3 nephews. She is also survived by a special adopted family: David, Jan, Dale & Kurt Hamilton.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son: Sammy Dwayne Presley, granddaughter: Valerie Diann Manning, brother: John P. Botts, sister: Chloe Hayes.

She was a loving wife & mother. She always cared more for others than herself. She was a hard worker and very independent. Most importantly, she believed Christ was her Savior.

Pallbearers are: Cynthia Keller, Chad Wickins, Bert Presley, Natalie Broekhoven, Jonathan Presley, Joshua Presley & honorary Pallbearers are: Katlyn Osborne & Chance Presley.

Dorothy was a long time member of the Many Springs Baptist Church and was currently a member of Eastside General Baptist Church in Springfield.

Family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until time of service. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Many Springs Baptist church near Alton, MO, with Bro. Bob Wiggs officiating. Burial in Many Springs Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Barnabas (901 Teas Trail 2060 Purdy MO 65734) and left at the funeral home.
