Jon Stewart, 53, former Mammoth Spring resident, died July 31st, 2011, at his home in Cherokee Village, AR.

Jon was born June 3rd, 1958, in Newport, AR to Jack and Rexine Stewart, and brought up in the Church of Christ.

He graduated from Mammoth Spring High School in May of 1976. He continued his education at the Delta Technical Institute in Mark Tree, AR, and graduated in 1978, specializing in body mechanics.

Jon had a zest for life, an adventurous spirit, and always surrounded himself with close friends and family. His warm soul, sense of humor, and generous personality charmed the hearts of many.

Mr. Stewart was a business man around the Mammoth Spring area. Many long-time residents will remember his car dealership, located on Main Street, and later, on South Hwy 63.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Stewart of Mammoth Spring, his mother, Rexine Stewart of Mammoth Spring, his sister, Judy Shipp of West Plains, MO (children: Angie Cuffia & Shane Shipp), his brother, Mark Stewart of West Plains, MO (children: Ian Stewart), and his companion, Cheryl Campbell of Cherokee Village, AR (children: Meagan & Alexandria Campbell).

He was proceeded in death by his infant brother, Bobby Stewart, his father, Jack Stewart and his brother-in-law, Sherman Shipp. He will be missed greatly....

Services will be 10am Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Clary Funeral Home in Mammoth Spring, AR, with Bro. Larry Yarber officiating. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Friday, August 5, 2011. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Mammoth Spring, AR.
